If your looking about the best animal to hunt, I find that black bears are the best animal for you to stick with. There’s no need to put scopes or ammo in your inventory. You can check if it is a quick kill by hovering over the session score in the left bottom corner of the harvest screen. If the quick kill says anything below 100, it will not count. I do not believe the weapon is a problem. As long as it is a handgun, you are good.
