Temporarily demoted them, didn't help. sometimes that happens and theyre probably busy but im just too lazy to wait so i just replace them. then it works fine. Having a rock stockpile and enough hauler dwarves will also fix this. Oh, and by the way, it is a good idea to make some wheelbarrows and assign multiple to your stone stockpiles. It is faster/easier for the dwarves to move stone with them. You can change the number of wheelbarrows in the button on the stockpile that has the barrel icon.Unless you're on a single core, go ahead, experiment. Most of the time it won't hurt to set it to high or even real-time. You can set the affinity of a process (how many cores it can use) in task manager as well. This way you can better balance the load on your CPU. Cheating is pretty subjective; I think workflow and digv are obsolete now that their functionality is in the base game, but you should play with whatever's most comfortable for you.
